Story just popped up on Facebook through club's news feed. Nothing on the 'fishal site yet. He has a serious rare rin injury apparently. Bummer.

according to clubs site.

Salford City Reds Australian pack star Ray Cashmere is now out of the game “indefinitely” after scans on a rib injury picked up against Castleford Tigers have revealed serious and rare damage.

Initial X-Rays had suggested no serious damage but after a week of recuperation, Ray’s injury was showing no apparent improvement and his condition wasn’t settling, so the Reds’ medical team ordered further scans which have now shown that the injury consists of a fractured dislocation of his eighth and ninth ribs.

Reds’ Head Coach Shaun McRae said: “Ray is out indefinitely with what is a serious and a very rare injury. I must stress it isn’t career threatening but the next stage is that Ray will see a specialist on Wednesday. Because of the rarity of the case we have no prognosis on his recovery so we are in the hands of the medical world to give us some further information and recovery timeline.

“Ray is in a lot of discomfort and he’s been really unlucky this season as this is his second tough injury. His absence is a massive blow for us, his presence and go-forward are a major factor in our plans so with Ray out for an indefinite amount of time we are really going to miss that, but we wait and see what the medical staff reports.”

Ouch! sounds like it could be a costochondral separation with a fracture

Dreadful news for Ray Cashmere. Let's hope it's not as serious as it sounds. He's done us proud.
