Just got home from the game,

No real forwards to give us the platform! Once we lost Cashmere we had no punch.
Poor game plan, I can understand getting beat to the high ball once, maybe twice but not five times. it is a good job they missed so many kicks.
It is Ok to let the coach know how we feel at the end of the game, but don't boo the young group of players this early in the season, this will not help our cause.

It is going to be a long hard season?

There were boos after 10 minutes which is shocking and helps no one but the opposition, was demoralizing to hear, god knows what the players think. Fair enough I can understand frustration but come on.....

Well that was absolutely shocking. It wouldn't surprise me if a strong "McRae out" movement started soon and to be honest I'd probably be inclined to agree with the sentiment.

There was no Plan B tonight. With ball in hand we looked clueless, looking more like we were trying not to lose rather than win, with little to no invention or creativity and one man rugby throughout. You can't do that against teams like Crusaders, you have to go out and actually try and win the game by playing a bit more expansively.

Defensively it was embarrassing at times. I can't even begin to say how frustrating it was to see them score from EXACTLY THE SAME MOVE 4 times. Vince Mellars (who??) got a hat trick of tries that were basically all carbon copies of each other and Gareth Raynor got one at the end with exactly the same set play exposing that right hand side of the defence.

We don't look like a well coached team at all. How simple is it to get the line moving up after the ball has been played to tackle the man rather than taking a couple of steps forward and then standing motionless and waiting for the runner to physically run into the tackle? It's basic but something that obviously needs reinforcing to the players.

Only one thing stands out as being remotely positive and that is Daniel Holdsworth. This guy looks like he's real class, the only problem is our negative play means that he can rarely do anything to fully take hold of and influence the game other than a couple of moments of brilliance.

the problem was Matty Smith he played with them last season, and there kicked at him, so there found a week link, but after 3 kicks why was not taken off, best thing to do with him is give him back to saints.

unfortunately I see improvement in Crusaders and Quins. You started way off the pace and improved hugely in parts of last year but genuinely, I think you're on for the wooden spoon this year.
Still, Cas were there in 08 and look what happened in 09. Young players are the key, stick with them and you'll be rewarded, Cas have a decent side and spend no where near what others around them do.

Not really the same Dico. Cas' second game last year was Wigan away. Who we beat 22-28, we weren't thrashed by Welshaussies. If Salford are to make similar progress to Cas then they'll have to start getting the results and performances (opinionated of course), crowd too though 3,500 for your first home game is dross. I feel for Salford and their fans. Tonight must hurt like hell. But it is only week 2....I fear a long season for you lot (granted you'll probably do the double on us though with me having my words)
