Can't believe that nobody else picked up on this, think Johnson would have been our best signing of the off season if we could have gotten him. Also think he's a Lancashire lad so surely him playing for us would have been a much more tempting bet than the daily schlep over to Wakefield.

A couple of reasons mate, firstly he's had major injury problems which have blighted his career and as far as a few are concerned more or less ended it and secondly salary cap and how little of it we can use.
If it went well he's could have been another Paul Forber (In terms of injury) or on the flip side you could end up with another Mark Edmondson!!!!

Although I will add my good luck to the lad I hope he proves people wrong, he's a player I've admired for years and would have loved to have seen him in a Salford shirt.

still not signed for us. he has to prove his fitness first. Really can't see where he will get in for me. It's Millard you will want to watch in the centres next year in our team.

I love this city, this is my town. We get a week out, without a doubt, gunna sing it out loud. i love my city this is my town, we get a week out, without a doubt, gunna sing it out loud

Only thing that has stopped him from signing is his divorce going through.

It seems the club are getting their recruitment policy right these days. Johnson has been a good player but he's 31 now and quite injury prone. Let's face it if Salford had approached him I'm sure his only motivation to sign for us would have been the contract. I appreciate the need for experience in any team/squad but we already have Alker, Parker and Talau.
Salford are obviously thinking longer term these days by investing their money wisely in much younger players with potential and ambition!
