Well I am sat here busy writing lesson plans at Bolton College and there is not one mention of it or anywhere in the town centre, talk about Equity and diversity and we are let down, I of course be celebrating later with some hearty ales but will not toast the women from the big council house darnsowf.
I think the local Eid celebrations have over shadowed it.
I was and bred in Bolton, and still work there at times, and have always considered myself a Lancastrian. However I had no idea that there even was a Lancashire Day, let alone when it was.
Worryingly I do know that Yorkshire Day is August 1st?!
That said, I had also for forgotten is was Eid today and, having spent the day in Bolton, saw no signs of any celebration of that either.
