Maybe I could shine some light on it.
My opinon is that Richard Myler will be a Warrington player next season, and Warrington will pay a hefty transfer fee to get him. There is far too much in it for Mr Offiah for him not to be. Offiah is commanding a hefty chunk of whatever the contract is that Myler signs... so it's in the best interests of player and agent to get the most money. Warrington I'm sure will happily match whatever it is that Salford offer, and there is likely to already be a golden envelope with Martin Offiah's name on it in the safe at Warrington as a sweetener should he persuade his client to sign.
It's quite clear that Offiah wants him to go to Warrington for his own financial reasons... I don't believe for 1 minute that he has the best interests of Richie Myler at heart. I hear he's been chumming around with the bods at the HJ and has been invited to the semi final by Warrington as an exec guest... all sweeteners... and I believe they will work.
So I look at it this way... If he has to go then so be it. He's 19 with 6 months SL experience, and now may be the best time to sell... otherwise he could go in 18 months for free... and no Salford fan wants that. With the money we should be able to bring somebody of substantial talent to replace him... and the only gamble would be from Warrington who seem likely to shell out a huge transfer fee and follow this with a hefty 4 year deal... the gamble could cost Warrington the best part of three quarters of a million pounds... is a 19 year old worth that kind of money... only time will tell.
Totally agree. Personally feel the same way & if you want a comparison - look what the Reds will get for Turner compared with the chunk for Myler. Business sense isnt it?
