I am one of the posters who have cited "SL Pace" as a problem for us and something we have not yet adjusted to and its more of an observation than an excuse for getting hammered. It is not the sole cause of all our ills but i do believe has contributed. When i talk of pace i dont just mean the physical side of the game i also mean speed of thought. I agree we have experienced SL and NRL players individually but the "team" has some inexperienced players too and until we are running and thinking at SL pace we will look disjointed. Speed of thought is crucial in all aspects of the game, spotting the gaps picking the man to tackle etc all are helped by marrying speed of movement with speed of thought. Ultimately its no use being the fastest strongest runner or best tackler if you never get into the positions to use those skills. Just my honest opinion and observation.

I guess Super League pace is just this seasons excuse, waiting for the pitches to firm up is sooooo 2007.
In all seriousness, all I have ever asked is for every player to give 100% for 80minutes. If we get beat by a better team with better players then so be it, but you can't ask any more.
What I expected is exactly what is happening, I've followed Salford long enough to have seen it all before. Nothing that club does could surprise me now, if a flying saucer landed at half time I wouldn't bat an eyelid.

I expected:
The new signings to be an improvement on previous overseas players.
To win the first game.
Achieve a competitive showing in the next two.
Beat Quins at home.........
Up to now I'm disappointed to say the least. However for some strange reason I think we still might win on Friday. If so, things may suddenly seem a lot brighter.
I expect I'll continue to be optimistic over the Club's future despite evidence to the contrary
........and the two football fans I'm taking to see Salford v Wigan for their first game of rugby to LOVE IT!!!!
