What a boy. Was sacked by the ginger doormat despite leading one of the worst rugby league teams man for man to make a grand final in history, in favour of some dude who’s only game plan is “f*** it, throw it to field” (but he comes across as a smashing bloke on TV…….)
Adrian Lam is a shoe in for coach of the year and well deserved.

Having mutual friends with Lam it was a shame how he was treated at Wigan, he loved that club and hung out by Rads & Lenegan, they were constantly interfering with signings, re-signings and player issues that should have been Lams responsibility and meddling on playing matters.
For all his faults Derek has given him free reign, even before he agreed to sign as coach for Leigh he had a meeting with Derek and gave him some advice on young players who had potential (Ipape being one) next minute Derek has gone and signed them, that’s what tipped Lams decision to join Leigh, can you believe Wigans hierarchy wouldn’t sign off the signing of Ipape and he initially came over on peanuts.
Cant wait to see what this thread turns into, I am happy for Leigh and hope they win in the semi. I think we are doing ok with Peet to be honest and Leigh are doing ok with Lam I think that is all needs to be said. Would I change the coaches absolutely not.
Got to say he's impressed me, only thought he did ok at Wigan but appreciate there may be things ive not been aware of listed above, and also tbf to any SL coach in 2020 it was more of a case of 'did you avoid any covid absences this week' that influenced sucess on the field or not that year.

Lam's 2021 Wigan side had the 2nd worst attack in the league, despite playing the most games of any club in Super League. With 6 points against Wakefield next week, Wigan will have already equalled 2021's points scored this season. Wigan and Lam were just not a fit for each other. It was a painful experience watching the side back then.

So basically Wigan- better with Peet Leigh- better with Lam I think that sums it up
