No matter the event or the location or the attendees, David Hadfield was always relaxed and friendly and chilled, this is exactly how I will remember him, ready to pen the next piece, no matter where it was, he always had the time to say hello.
All our very sad condolences to his family.

A great writer of the game. I remember speaking to him outside a pub in Wigan a few years back he was shaking and he said had Parkinsons as my dad had so we had a good chat about rugby, parkinsons etc,A lovely man and generous with his time.
Only knew him on sky when he did the man of the matches but seemed to have very good knowledge of the game and seemed a good guy

We were travelling around NZ in 96 following the Lions tour. We got to know RL journalist down there, which led to meeting a number of UK journos including Dave. As others have said, a great man. We ended up getting invited to play in a GB v NZ journo touch rugby game. Dave played, dreaming of playing for Blackpool Borough. For a big unit he was a bloody good player. We stuffed NZ journos as well.
