I keep reading restructuring. Seen all posts regarding the games this week and the question? Still remains why wait for financial support from a league that doesn’t support it? Why get drawn in to a failure? SL is nothing without finances from Sky. It’s also pretty useless without being fed.
Time to change things, but that involves grassroots up.

Agree 100%
If the game is to survive, let alone flourish, then it needs a strong controlling body. Other sports have leadership that is prepared to make hard decisions and invest in development. Recently in football, the tail tried to wag the dog and was left in no doubt who was in charge....the ruling bodies. So Huge clubs with budgets bigger than our entire game were pulled back into line, but we pander to a few wealthy northern men
12 Clubs with their hands out, unable to function without TV money and prepared to let lower clubs starve now that their pie has gotten smaller is hardly "elite" level sport. The reduced income from TV was £280,000 a pop, so about 1.000 on the gate at each home game needed to cover that loss, but instead they try to shaft each other (Leigh in this case) to lessen the impact.
The RFL should wrest back control of the game and apportion funds fittingly across all levels of the Pro sport....starting with a huge emphasis on youth participation and fan engagement. If Wigan & Leeds want to spend top dollar on players, let them, but not at the expense of the funding to the lower tiers.
If the Lenegans of the world don't like it, then let them leave. The game may need their money, but in the long term, it'll be better without them. For too long we (the supporters) have been an afterthought whilst these men play with their "rich mans toys'.....the RFL needs to step up and I mean with a strong leader, not the likes of Rimmer.

Self - interest.. Not one club is stepping up and saying “ we support the sport” …. Clubs have accepted the fact to create academies, only to be shafted, by SL again. Not the RFL. Who always present their statements in the name of RL. 100% is sadly missed.

Academies are great, but a look at how few U21 players in the NRL make the step up points to reserve grade footy being key too. The lack of kids playing the game is where to start. Getting mums to let their little darlings play the game. We do it over here by making the kids grade games an event. All our juniors play at the same venue on the same day and there's a really good vibe in the hosting clubhouse. London used to host such events when at Twickenham.....admittedly it was frustrating when the parents dragged their kids away before the main game, but the kids were there, with boots and kit and enthusiasm.... ...then it's the schools. Again, one of the clubs I sponsor recently won an award for a schools initiative.
It is never going to be easy, but the game has never lacked volunteers and enthusiasm....just leadership

Players in to a school these days are used as social media. No input on the results. Schools here in the HEARTLANDS are leaving it off their curriculum.

Rimmer effectively IS the RFL. The big offices and numerous staff at Red Hall is long gone.
Soccer and Rugby league have no comparison at all. The small number of clubs who wanted to break away were up against hundreds of strong clubs and a massive majority of European fans in their Millions.
In contrast all the private money is in SL and if not, people like Kurdi are wanting to be in SL. The vast majority of money from all sources is in SL like SKY money and the vast majority of RL fans love "supergreed"............

I'd love to see Rimmer try to "take back control"
Yes agree. Unfortunately we are too far gone down the ‘self interests’ route. The soccer lot were sunk by fan and player power. We don’t have that level of pulling power

They were also backed by a strong media out pouring of support which mobilised more fans. We have fans who are happy to sit and moan but not do much about it

He seems to have control. It was he the government granted the loan to which seems to have been given to Super League clubs. The government didn't seem to have any discussion with Elstone.
No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

Are you suggesting rugby league fans should turn up and protest their clubs like the football fans did?
