How the hell isn't he on the Man of Steel list? I've not looked, but please don't tell me Tom Briscoe is? Phil Clarke came out with another outlandish statement the other week claiming he should be a contender, jesus wept.

There's no doubt Peacock has been a great player and has contributed massively to the Leeds club. That's not a reason for him to make the MOS shortlist for this year as that is solely based on this years performance and not a place for sentiment because a player is retiring. If it was the shortlist would be Peacock, Morley and Wellens. The players have voted for the shortlist and he wasn't in their top 3 and rightly so IMO.
He will no doubt be considered for The Hall of Fame in 5 years time

I think JP had a bit of a short quiet period towards mid season, Cuthbertson and Hardaker have been massive for Leeds this year, Walmsley similar for Saints. Peacock always gives 100% but a bit less dominant in 2015.
The new young dynasty of super saints is coming to a ground near you. Welsby-Dodd-Simms-Eaves-Rizzelli, not Eastmond...the future is coming.

Peacock could, perhaps should, have won it in one or other of the last couple of seasons. He was carrying Leeds' pack to massive degree then. This season he has been a little less dominant - partly by design as Leeds have improved the pack but perhaps also a very slight tapering off towards the end (which still leaves him well above the average prop).
Is he the greatest ever Leeds player? I imagine Holmes, Jones, Peacock and Sinfield would be four of most/many people's top five, but it's very hard to say which was the no. 1.
Undoubtedly there are Grand Finals Leeds wouldn't have won, wouldn't even have been in without Peacock but the same applies to Sinfield. Of these two Sinfield for me perhaps edges it, partly because of being a one club player; partly because he is, just about, a tangible link with the Bad Leeds era as well as 2003 etc so his triumphs carry association with more traumas than Peacock's; and also partly because Sinfield runs the show, and set and continues to set a lead throughout the football dept of the club.
"Brian McDermott, with a wry smile, nods when asked if he remembers a specific incident which made him realise he was a prick. 'I do', he murmurs."

No, plenty of more influential players including Sinfield in this decade. Great player though and if GB had 13 players of his caliber we would have won something by now.
WEST COAST PIRATES NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......
