I seem to remember a largely summer-based sport called "cricket".

Did we copy them in 95/96?

No we didn't. We switched to summer. Modern cricket was always a summer sport. It never had to think about switching.

Bloodbin, video ref and rolling subs are 3 original things off the top of my head. 2 of which have been copied by yawnion.

After watching some games this weekend they dont seem to have copied passing, catching & using overlaps by running into open space yet.

Sport was invented by the upper class so they had something to do outdoors in the summers good weather, like lawn tennis and cricket, which is why cricket lasts 5 days (a working week) and both stop play when it rains.
Football was invented so they had something to do during the cricket off season and rugby came from football, that is the only reason why football and rugby was played in winter. Don't you know your history?
