"warrington team just been announced by smith pitchside: mathers; hicks, king, atkins, riley; briers, monaghan; morley, clarke, carvell, westwood, l anderson, harrison. interchange: higham, wood, solomona, v anderson."
what has happened to Myler in the past 12 months? he certainly hasnt lived up to the hype and the huge transfer fee at Warrington.
too much expectation at a young age for him?

(Please note the following is based on supposition)
Perhaps it is a case of too much hype, too much expectation and perhaps a player believing he was the done deal when in reality he still had much to learn.
Scott Moore was the same, fantastic potential at Huddersfield, picked for England. Sucked ever since and Huddersfield were glad to see Saints take him back imo.
It will be VERY interesting to see how Sam Tomkins goes next season at Wigan, and if he will suffer the same fate (as Kev Brown did at Wigan, as Luke Robinson did at Wigan etc. - so much hype and expectation they believed their own press and their form suffered so much it took years to recover)

At Salford, he was a great player, although he lacked consistency, but on his day he was class but just before the speculation of him heading to Wire got out Ratchford started to out shine him.

Thought Higham would have been dropped myself. Thought Myler went well last week. To be fair to RM, he's been injured for a chunk of the season so hitting full form will be difficult. I think Warrington are shooting themselves in the foot by the way, playing Monaghan away from hooker. I think we'll be guaranteed an unforced knock-on from him at first receiver..

Dont read anything in to this "dropped" business. Myler has had a decent year. Trys : Game ratios support this and we (fans) are all very dissapointed he is not in the 17 for tomorrow.
Myler has been pretty poor this year to be honest. Carried by some other good players from what I have seen along with a few tries from backing up.
Can't believe they are moving Monaghan out of his best position.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

I think Tony Smith has just gone with his best team for the match and someone was going to miss out.
Myler still has bags of potential and will be the future playmaker for Warrington going forward once Monaghan, Briers, Clarke + Higham have hung up their boots.
I think Warrington look a much more dangerous team with 2 tough players starting (Monaghan + Clarke) and then Higham will inject pace after 20 mins.
Very strong team IMO - should be favourites.
The lightweight Leeds forwards need to step up as Warrington will be very physical although on a big Wembley pitch + a hot day it may favour a more mobile team.

It's a gamble dropping Myler IMO. Moving Monaghan away from his best position, bringing Higham back in who has been injured. Personally, I wouldn't of dropped Myler - even though he hasn't quite lived up to the hype (bear in mind he's 20/21 year's old), I would of started him and Briers with Monaghan at hooker. I think when those 3 are on the field Warrington play best.
This game'll be won in the backs IMO. People keep saying about Leeds' lightweight pack, it's just as good as Wire's IMHO. The likes of Lee Smith, Ryan Hall, Keith Senior, Brett Delaney, Matt King, Chris Riley, Chris Hicks etc etc will win or lose this game. I'd also be tempted to bet that one of those will be the Lance Todd Trophy winner.

People were saying the same things about Tomkins this time last year.
No doubt it will be the same this time next year as well..........
I'm expecting Monas and Clarke to rotate at hooker. I for one would rather see Clarke (who has experience of playing in the halves) at halfback and Monas at nine because he (Monas) can win a game on his own and is so influencial for us.
