They should just ban it altogether. Changing it to a 2 man strip being legal doesn't help much.

I disagree with allowing 2 in the tackle to strip the ball, however I know what you mean regards a player losing the ball in the tackle and they almost always get a penalty.

Agree with you on this one. Stealing is utterly wrong considering we promote rugby league as a family sport. What messages are we sending out to the kids if you can legally steal on a rugby pitch?

They should just make it legal to strip the ball at all times. It doesn't matter how many people are in the tackle, only one can actually steal the ball at any given time. Maybe then you wouldn't see so many " lose " carries. It's a joke

I just hate the rule full stop.

There is little skill in knocking the ball out of someones hands, expecially in wet conditions.

Even with pressure on the ball and a two handed carry its more than possible for someone to knock the ball out.

Get rid.

No really because it would be far too easy to gang tackle and basically terrorise the player into giving up the ball. You would barely see a set completed. As soon as anyone got stood up in the tackle they would be stripped of the ball. No matter how secure the carry is, if four men are holding your arms, legs and body and someone is taking the ball from you it's almost impossible to stop it.

I think ever since striking was outlawed at the play-the-ball - we need to emphasise that having the ball is not a 100% sure guaranteed closed shop of having possession. That there needs to be more incentive and ways for the defending team to get possession back without relying on the attacking's side mistake, or carelessness. For that reason only, banning striping the ball completely would be mistake, and would add more to monotony of possession by creating more certainty for the ball carrier.
