Today is going to be filled with tension , atmosphere , hope , despair , emotion , dissapointment , elation
Both for teams going up and going down
And these are the things that we go to watch sport for
Take note the RFL

So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

I agree, but the difference with football is that it can support promotion and relegation with the finances involved.
The RFL should maybe take note of that also.

I don't know about you but for my two penneth, "achieving" the title of "fourth worst team in the competition" isn't really worthy of dancing around and doing laps of honour.
Car crash TV? Absolutely. How to sell a sport? No thanks.
And let's face it, had the other 19 teams not been so poor, the Sky TV cameras would (rightly) be at Hull for an entirely different reason.

Maybe if Newcastle were getting relegated into League 2 and Gillingham promoted to the Premier League, then it would be a similar situation to RL.

Dunno about that mate, Hull city would be more than happy with finishing 16th best out of 94(i think) english teams. Gives them a chance to build again next season if they stay up and is a massive achievement.
If they go down its a long hard process to get back in again!

So it is always a case of other clubs being poor , this seems to be a Leeds fans trait

Not necessarily, although I think the the Premier League, in general, has been poor.
Last season there was 11 points between 1st and 4th, this season there is (with one round to go), 18 points. There are currently 27 points between 1st and 5th (compared to 22 last year).
I know what you'll say. You'll say that there always has to be a winner and there always has to be a loser but at the end of the day, the benchmark in the Premier League isn't actually changing - 86 points has been more than enough to guarantee the title for more reasons than I can be bothered trawling back through. By the same token, 40pts has always been considered as the benchmark for survival - now that figure is nudging down towards the mid-30's.
That, whichever way you look at it, represents a decline in quality. That's not what the aim should be and it's not something that a small sport that often punches above its weight (like RL), should be marketing itself.

When it means you get paid another 30 million pounds next season it's worth dancing to teams like Hull.
