Although I didn't see much of the Saturday games of the Magic Weekend on TV, it was interesting to note the reaction of the fans to the appearance of Leon Pryce (convicted recently) and to that received by Greg Bird of Catalan Dragons (convicted of assault) and the reactions to both players by the self-righteous crowd in at Murrayfield.

Pryce was booed with every touch, whilst Bird's appearance passed off without a whimper, albeit that Bird limped off part way through his game.

Why ?

Surely treat all thugs / convicts / wife beaters the same and should be treated that way (booed ?) or are the ever-parochial rugby league fans so one-eyed as to ignore indivdual because of either who he is or the team he is playing against ?

Pryce is from this country so we know much more about his case, bigger news. Also Pryce has pleaded guilty, Bird is appealing.

Most mindless Wigan fans who were booing Pryce though, seems like Wigan and Saints can only follow their own clubs by slagging off the opposition.

With all the crims running around in SL there would be a heck of alot of booing going on!

You could remake the Mean Machine film with a RL cons v's the guards game if they were all sent down together!
