Do we have to do this? :(

If it hasn't worked by now, it never will! I'm all for reaching out to a wider audience with our game but not at the expense of historical clubs in the homelands.

Luke Gale.

Biased I know, but has stepped up to the SL plate admirably.

McNally got another hat-trick yesterday for Whitehaven.

Watching the Saints Wigan last week, the youngsters Eastomd and Tomkins impressed me awfully. They do seem to have a much more complete "skill set" for half back than say Sean Long or Rob Burrow had when they that age.

From what i have seen Myler and Tomkins look the best bets for me as they have the Skill to be creative. being good without the skill is not enough. that is why Danny Mc Guire is NOT international class.

He looks good in a good team but is not creative enough. It is those creative players with the x factor that we need and that is why i like watching Myler and Tomkins. They think and they do something different . I just hope that they are encouraged to develop that side of their game and do not have it coached out of them to fit in with some system.

that is why i think the best thing that could happent to Tomkins would be lf he was to leave wigan and get away from Noble before he is replaced by some overrated aussie or crumbles under the pressure of trying to be wigans saviour.

I love watching this lad, appears to have all the skills and not short of confidence too.

THE CO-OPERATIVE CHAMPIONSHIP NEEDS A STRONG WIGAN

I'd add Jonny Lomax to that list too, he is just returning from a knee reconstruction but before that he looked an outstanding prospect.
I think he is a tougher and stronger defender than those already mentioned.

Myler looks to be the best of the lot. He's got a far better all round game than the rest of the crop. I'm still not convinced Eastmond's future is in the HBs.

At least he'd lose his virginity.

Hard to do a fair comparison on these players.

Myler looked anything but a future international at times last season, playing behind a lightweight Widnes pack and you feel he'll need to move to a bigger club to get a chance of international selection. He wouldn't be the first (or the second come to that) Myler from Widnes to play at halfback for GB.

McNally looks like a great player, but there's a lot less speed in the defensive line in NL1 and more time to think with ball in hand.

Eastmond & Tomkins look the pick of the bunch to me - out there doing it at the top level.
