Hi Guys,

Not sure how many of you out there subscribe to Setanta and watch the NRL, tests and Origins. However, their coverage of NRL has been whittled away to one game a week on Saturday mornings. Which seems extreme considering Setanta 2 is showing teleshopping in its place on Fridays.

Anyway, if any of you feel like helping a cause, I have just fired off an E-mail to setanta through their feeback section (if anyone has a better address to send to please let me know).

Head here and help out our great game! Without NRL coverage there is no reason for me to subscribe to a second rate broadcaster.

I have spoken to Setanta and they came up with some very lame sounding story that they are giving 'priority' to the Magners league until it finishes which is, apparently, first week in May.

After that they say they will show more NRL (they have the rights to show up to 3 live games).

This is taken from their website :

"THE BEST OF THE NRL

Setanta also has the pick of the Action from the NRL in Australia so you can ensure you don't miss out as we broadcast a minimum of 2 LIVE matches per round of the regular season, plus the Semi-Finals, Finals & Grand Final as well as the State of Origin Matches."

I too am unimpressed by there being only one game shown this weekend. Could they be done under the trade descriptions act or false advertising?

What's the touch line like down there mate? 'It's long, it's white, it's about a hundred metres long!'.

Like I said elsewhere I expected clashes when the IPL starts (mid April) but even delayed coverage would be better than not bothering at all. It's pretty poor to go from 3 games to 1 game a week.

alas...."invitation to treaty", not trades description.

I get it on Freeview so the games are already delayed enough since the channel doesn't start broadcasting until midday anyway. It's very frustrating since I, and many others I know of, only subscribe to Setanta in order to watch the NRL.

Incidentally the Aussie Rules coverage remains at two days a week. Can't believe the Magners League excuse! I didn't realise those games kicked off at 10:30am on a Friday Morning!
