trying to get a discussion going on the nrl next year.

guys, what are you thought as to whose going to go well next year?

my opinion :

1. manly will probably be a better team than this year with the signing of williams and bailey and the team being more experienced with winning the GF and also playing in the WC will make their players even better. everything went their way this year, can they play to that level again. top 4 for sure.

2. storm - will find it hard to stay at the level theyve been at for 3 years now. when the roosters made 3 straight GFs, they then sank down the nrl table in later years. they have kept all their key players though and will be burning for revenge. going with history, cant see them making the GF.

3. broncos - new coach, loss of many good players, solid year without making top 4.

4. saints (im a fan) - wayne bennett as coach, many good signings, top 4, maybe GF.

5. cronulla - like manly before them are getting better. excellent defence, with barrett could be even better. they will make a GF in the next few years.

6. roosters - should do better than last year with their halves getting more expeirence and a great team. the worry is in the last part of the season the team didnt look interested, so maybe they are sick of fittlers coaching

7. warriors - with jones back and a great run of form at the end of the season, they could do anything.

8. cowboys - with henry as coach will bounce back, especially with bowen back and thurston hopefully fully fit. but to go from last they should just be aiming for a semis spot

9. tigers - shambles really, another year where they will miss the semis. sheens has been at the club too long, his players arent responding to him

10. titans - injury killed them this year, semi finals bound this year if injuries are good to them

11. knights - should make semis, smith has turned them around, good young team. mullen is a really good player.

12. souths - very good players in key positions, issac luke at 9, wing at 6, sandow at 7, plus sutton and wesser at fullback, still need some forwards.

13. parra - with new coach and a great team, should go much better than last year, could even make top 4. inu and hayne had poor years, need to improve

14. penrith - matty elliot has been a disaster, cant see the team doing much.

15. canberra - loss of henry, but a very talented team playing exciting footy. could make the semis if have a good run with injuries

16. dogs - have a much better team than last year and without the distraction of SBW walking out could make the semis. need to focus on gelling as a team and getting the sting back in defence. the dogs have always bounced back from adversity in the past. the signing of hannant, ennis and kimmorley are quite good, plus morris from saints. not sure about the coach though

make sure you dont bet on that mick.

they wont even come close to the top 4.

dont forget theyve lost hannant, ennis, boyd and kemp plus bennett.

plus theres a story now justin hodges is depressed

taking over from bennett is going to be a big call.

henjack is a relative unknown and it looks like a task that could be too big for him.

Broncos will be interesting this year. If one or two key players don't fire or are injured - particularly Lockyer - then the Broncos could really struggle, and Henjak has no track record to fall back on. If that happens he'll struggle to see out the season as the pressure will be immense.

Unfortunately for whoever is the coach the first year after Bennett, anything other than a strong run in the finals would be seen as failure.

i think theres a chance they might even sack the coach.

the last 6 games or so they didnt look interested at all. theyd get run down in the 2nd half all the time.

mason even said he was happy to get injured as he was burned out from RL.

still they did finish well this year so they are an interesting one.

shame about the boring footy they play.

them and cronulla are terrible.
