Leeds played Salford for 2 reasons

A pre season warm up and to raise awareness of the sport in a country that doesn't play the sport to any great degree

Do we need a SoO game over here to raise awareness of the sport ? No

Would it fill Wembley ? No

Would it fill the JJB or Galpharm ? possibly

Will it happen ? considering how much moaning you lot do about travelling over here , No chance

Would I go to watch it ? No

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

I have no interest in watching Origin games over here. Smackdown is on Sky and they have Divas too, and the moves are better.

OK, so the jist of it is you want 2 sides mainly made up of players from a team who failed in the WC to come and play a showcase game in front of a big crowd?

Er, our last 2 GF's have been just that, and they weren't 5-drives-and-a-kick fests either.

So, if you don't mind the ego blow, we'll pass thanks.

You've stolen my washing
From out my back garden
You've tarmacked my driveway
Even though I said no
You've nicked my lead flashing
And weighed it in at the scrappy
Oh St Helen's tatters
Come rob me again

most of them i talk to watch origin and love it.

some just get a bit upset that origin is the best that RL can be and that internationals dont come close.

i just cant work out how AFL can get 20,000 and then people say there would be minimal interest for origin.

ill bet the people bagging it dont watch it

They might well watch it in the pub on the TV but doubt they would pay to watch it live

This is what we have all been telling you , british sports fans are very club loyal and tend to have little interest in watching as a neutral

Yes the Challenge Cup is well supported by neutral fans but more so as a weekend away rather than just the game
