If neither squad has improved then Rovers should finish higher as they did last season.

Not that I agree that neither squad has improved, but your comment isn't true. If neither squad has improved, that doesn't mean that they have gone backwards the same (if at all). Rovers may have gone backwards more than Hull.

Mars wrote:Paul Cooke I will give you, but you can't really take any credit for guessing the outcome of the match at the KC. That was a freak result. It happens and it was no skin of my nose. We finished fourth and made the play-offs. You narrowly avoided relegation and likely oblivion.

I was also proved correct by Rovers 14-10 victory at Cardiff but feel free not to mention that.

Mars wrote:Hull's squad is largely the same as it was when we made the Grand Final

To the deluded yes. But without Briscoe, Domic, Cooke, Swain & Carvell? - yer if ya like...

Mars wrote:and I am happy to write last year off as a aberation. As are the bookies.

Which pleases me greatly because it means more easy money for me.

Mars wrote:You seem to forget that for all our issues last season most of our squad have been there, done that when it comes to qualifying for, and winning, major finals.

Any SL team can get to a CC final with a favourable draw, but only 2 SL clubs have the honour of being officially called the 2 worst teams in SL (although Cas have an excuse due to being the promoted side).

Mars wrote:Unlike Hull KR's squad who almost to a man had the best year of their careers last season.

Briscoe - GF 2006
Walker - SL winner 2004, World Club Challenge winner 2005
Webster - Tri-Nations winner (and top scorer) 2005
Fitzhenry - NRL winner 2005
Cooke - GF 2006 (single handedly), CC winner 2005 (single handedly)
Crossman - NRL top metre maker 2005, Minor Premier winner 2006 & 2007
Fisher - 2007 SL "Hit-man"
Vella - World Cup winner 2000
Galea - NRL winner 2005
Newton - NRL winner 2007
Gene - World Club Challenge winner 2006
Chester - CC winner 2005 (he helped Paul Cooke).

You quite simply know nothing about RL and the above information can only conclude you as a stupid, deluded FC fan.

Mars wrote:We'll make the top 6 this year as we have done for 4 of the last 5 seasons.

Without Carvell, Cooke, Briscoe? - very, very slim chance - if any.

Mars wrote:And there's no reason for me, or anyone else, to believe you'll make the play-offs (even in it's new format).

Fancy a wager?

Mars wrote:You weren't good enough last year and you won't be good enough this. Happy days.

Wrong.

Mars wrote:Feel free to store this one away for future reference.

Will do, should be a right laugh just like this has been.

Mars wrote:Although somehow I imagine this one will disappear when proved correct.

You mean like this time?

Aye he did, Lovegrove looked good at left-cente didn't he - as most do when playing off Paul Cooke.
