Couldn't agree more. I saw Kevin Penny in an Academy game a few weeks back and he was great to watch. Scored four tries and saved a certain try late in the game with the scores level by chasing sixty metres to bring down an opponent right on the line, forcing a knock on, having made up about a ten metre gap in the process. I could certainly live with seeing him in my team every week, and as for his weaknesses he can surely only get better with coaching and experience.

Indeed, shame he's playing under Paul Cullen really!

That did cross my mind when I posted my earlier comment! One Warrington supporter at that Academy game reckoned that if Penny had been in the St Helens Academy he'd have been in their first team months ago. I was also told that Logan Swann, having returned Down Under, claimed there was a "drinking culture" at Warrington, to which Cullen responed "If he thinks that's a drinking culture he should have played in my day!". (In other words, there is a drinking culture at Warrington.)

Yes of course that's what it means.
Now The Wire.

He wasn't that good - two scratchy tries against a beaten side and he didn't really do anything else. Took the first one well mind.

"scratchy tries" ha ha ha. Typical Penny for the first, he got the ball outside his opposite man, went past him and then put his nose down, headed for the corner and skinned the covering fullback on the outside.
Not sure what more Penny could have done really to make it not a "scratchy try"....
He's got a long way to go but 2 tries in the game - when he apparently didn't even play well - is continuing to bode well for the lad.

Did you watch the game on the radio? The first try was a great finish.

Don't say that, he is the greatest winger of all time!.
TBH it's happened with Leeds, Ryan Hall is now the new Lote Tuqiri.
People should just let these players develop without far fetched expectations.
