You are a complete moron.
Nobody mentioned it. Yes they did previously when you had a go at co-operative giving away 200 tickets. The very same fans expect people to pat you on the back for doing the same only on a much, much grander scale.
What? I'm a moron for pointing out you lot had a go at us and are now doing the same thing. I think the fans who had a go at us in a development area are the morons when they couldn't see their hand in front of them never mind the fact you would now have to open the gates to every tom dick and harry to get 5,000 plus. You reap what you sow and I find it amusing that the pompous fans of your club now have to eat humble pie as they looked down their noses at other teams who gave away free tickets then went on to give away a lot more freebies than us in the same season and now just open the gates. Do you think we would not have got more than you yesterday if we had done the same? We had 3,000 paying fans remember and some feel the need to come on our board boasting about your non paying spectators that made it a larger crowd than ours.

Call me what you like, it's water off a ducks back.
When it comes down to it if you have to open your gates to get a decent crowd in then you have a lot more things to worry about than a few posts on here. I dread to think what the crowd would have been if people had to pay to watch it and you didn't have to appeal to other fans to come like you have on here.

Not on this thread. Unfortunately, we do have fans who are as pathetic as you, but not many.

Yes, because nobody was doing it on this thread, which makes you as bad, or worse, than the fans you are so incensed by.
I'd say that was moronic, yes.

The majority of which aren't Widnes fans.

It's called marketing.
Even though we are on a bad run, and are a division below, playing less distinguished opposition, We'd still would've matched or bettered your attendance yesterday with everyone paying. Even so, 2,000 season ticket holders did pay to see the game.

Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”

We could go on all day.
I've made the point and I'm not sure you would have got over 3,000 paying fans if you couldn't double that with over 3,000 not paying.
I say this purely due to the fact you had 3,290 against Barrow in what was a decent clash. You lost that game and the two games after this. I think it is more than conceivable to think the gate would have gone down by more than 300 or so against less attractive opposition. As I have said before though, we all have our opinions and that is mine.
Gateshead are on the same amount of points as Batley who you had 2,901 spectators for the home games against them. 900 approx fans paying on the day for that one and that was before your run of losses. I think yesterday would have seen an even worse crowd due to the run of losses and the fact it was against a team at the foot of the table, like Batley with little away support that I guess was less than Batley's.

our chairman made the game free to thank fans for sticking by the club recently and to get the fans who stopped going back after poor displays recently.
your club is still developing, so they or other parties give tickets away to introduce fans to rugby league and to build a fan base for the future.
so lets put this old argument to bed. it will be more than likely that there will be another brewing in a couple of weeks about something else thats pointless.

I'm happy with leaving it.
When it comes down to it our competition with the rfl and you giving free entry to anyone who wants to go gets fans watching rugby league that would otherwise not have been. That, for me, whatever way we want to look at it is a good thing.

Our lowest league attendance this season was 2,901 against Batley. We got 3,181against Sheffield, which would have a similar appeal to Gateshead.
Both were all paying and both either match or beat CC’s attendance yesterday.

Then stop derailing threads when it happens anywhere but South Wales.

Yes, and both of them were before you were beaten 3 times in a row.
We'll agree to disagree again. I think 3 losses would see your crowd fall a way under 3,000, you don't.
