The penalty try was given because if the tackle wasn't around his head, he'd have been able to take the ball around nearer the sticks.

Wrong on two points, he was offside, but that was ignored because Ganson bullied Alibert into a penalty try, advantage was played and he scored the ball so wasnt prevented from scoring by the foul.

And there is no reason on earth to say he could have gone under the sticks at all.

Not really, halley had his front fot in front of the kicker, the rules this season say the player should be behind the kicker, with both feet.

Its a moot point since les Cats still win and the points difference doesnt matter.

Ganson still made up the whole penalty try though, clearly he hadnt got enough time on the TV for his likeing.

We can argue about the first point all night, but we're both relying on footage we saw earlier rather than seeing it live in person from next to the touchline - so who knows who is right or wrong?
