The "top earners" are grossing far more than that though - through the clubs and from "external" earnings". And I'm not at all sure that player earnings will follow a Normal Distribution - not least because of the small population size at each club and the disproportionate benefit a club sees from employing a "marquee" player?
I do think people might be surprised at how modest the packages of some of the "middle-rankers"are though.
Would I be right in thinking your £18k-£20k applies to players outside the "25"?
