There the VR correctly judges that the ball came free from the contest in a backwards motion and was touched down by Buchanan. That's why the try was given. The VR doesn't come up with nonsensical judgement of "The ball is dropped backwards lots of times and given as knock-ons so I've got to give a knock-on too."
