Having not seen the game, I can't pass comment on the performance of Ben Thaler - but what I will say is this. I am sick of reading on here about how referees are causing defeats, how everything is their fault rather than, say a better team winning, mistakes by a player, poor gameplay by a coach.
The RFL should start handing out fines and/or point deductions for criticism of match officials, that would stop the endless whining soon enough.

They also pay to see a decent performance from the players too
How many passes did Thaler knock on, or put forward? How many kicks did he miss time, how many penalties didnt find touch, how long did he lay on in the tackle, or stray offside? How many tackles did he miss?
When teams put in flawless performance, then they can gripe about the ref.

You are only saying this because EVERYONE knows Thaler robbed us at Belle Vue last year.

Whether or not Morgan is right if this was football he would be charged with bringing the game into disrepute. I would imagine that he will be summoned to the RFL to explain his comments and possibly face some sort of action.

A load of, er, 'fans' beef off at referees on an internet forum, and it's acceptable.
A coach, a man who knows more about rugby than the 'fans' do, beefs off about a ref and all of a sudden it's a 'dummy spit', he's 'moaning', etc.
Freedom of speech, entitled to his opinion etc. He even states it had no bearing on the result.
Amazing

Not quite - I was a ref in a past life. It's difficult making a decision in a split-second and getting it right every single time. Not difficult, impossible. But no ref walks on that field thinking, "I'm going to screw over <insert team name here>," they make honest mistakes, just like the players and coaches do.

Tbh I think he gets far too many wrong to warrant a Super League position.

Indeed they are but isn't this the case in Super League also? Refs in SL can also be dropped for poor performances, its just that this doesn't happen all that often.

I can only remember one instance of this though.
There should be far more common punishment of poor refereeing.
Is the fact that we do not have enough refs having a detrimental impact on SL?
