Menzies: legend of the game, awesome player, seems to get better with age. Some of us raised an eyebrow when he signed due to his age, but he's proved his class.

Fitzgibbon: even the Aussies have been wondering how he keeps getting selected. Oh, his heart's there and the effort cannot be questioned, but sometimes age equals a general slowdown and loss of that 'edge'. Yes, he can kick, but so can Tickle.

Lack of foresight from the FC board there. But they're not alone in that.

The thing is you cannot say that even Fitz and Menzies are of the same Class.
I commented when Bradford signed Menzies on his age and was told by someone with far superior Australian Rugby knowledge than myself that the guy is "Different Gravy" and i now concede to this.
I get exciteded at the prospect of watching menzies when the Bulls are on TV Fitz however does not do this for me.

Just a question for the FC fans; do you not have any promising loose/2nd rows coming through the academy at all? After watching you tonight, your forwards didn't seem that bad, lacking a bit of go-forward but I don't see how Fitzgibbon will fix that.

DANNY LOCKWOOD - LEAGUE WEEKLY (18-5-09)

I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.

From a Saints Point of view. I think it's a great signing. Lets just hope Wigan sign Kidwell.
