Outstanding.

Saints on TV and with no travelling fans managed over 7,000.

And how many FC fans made the effort today? Ah right the same as Quins fans did...

Ahhh a moderator posting something of no relevance whatsoever.

It's not about the teams no longer in the comp, it's about those who are. All the other teams managed more than 31% of their season average crowd, just goes to show that in Huddersfield the majority of people won't go to watch "their team" if it's not given to them at a hugely discounted price.

The problem is not with the individual clubs, its with the romance ( or lack of ) of the cup. 20 years ago you would expect a shock or two. I recall Donny beating HKR just as they were falling from their pearch. As a big example. Part time players being upset by "lesser" part time players.

You also had "big name" players who fans would flock to see.

Now with the advent of full time pros at the top and journey men in the NL who are part time you will not get the shocks. The nearest you will get is matches like Cas / Fax which may well be a decent contest, though ultimately the top dog wins. Though granted the mighty Robins beat the complacent Wire a few years back. But the bottom line is they are few and far between now.

Huddersfield kicked off at a stupid hour against a lesser team. No disrespect but who is going to get out of bed at that time on a Sunday in between bank holidays to watch a game which is more than likely going to be no contest.?

The Super League era has killed the cup. Its great initially if you get plum ties such as Leeds Saints this year in the early rounds, but in all honesty do we get real fairytale shocks anymore.? NO.

Saints now have a monopoly which is for the rest of the game to stop. Even Hull winning in 2005 was supposed to be a shock, but I don't really think it was in the same league of say Sheffield or Featherstone in years gone by.

It is now a competition purely to get the game on national TV and for a show piece final at the end of August. Crowds are poor because the romance is gone, not because of anything that Huddersfield may or may not have done or any other club for that matter.

If my fellow Hull fans want to dis other clubs please be careful. The pulling power of the cup was best emphasised by the crowd at least years semi final. We as fans kicked up a stink because it was at Donny. Yet between us and Wakey we could not fill the stadium. LESS THAN 15000 for a semi and a place at Wembley. Thats the glory of the cup in the modern era.

It could also be that I am now in the age when " its not as good as it was .......blah blah blah.....)

With a stupidly early kick off against Rochdale, can't say I blame them, whats you agenda mate cause you are coming across as having one hel of a chip on that shoulder.

How many were at the Hull FC game this weekend? This result was pretty much decided at the draw.

And given the offers on tickets, that was poor IMO

Given the opposition and the the reserve players if was good.

I don't know anyone who gets almost 3,000 to a reserve game.

Ok, jumpy. However, I was commenting on Saints crowds.
