To be fair it could have gone to any of half a dozen Wire players this afternoon, but Briers is the heartbeat of the team when they are on-song, so nobody can really moan about him getting the nod.

If you could give it to more than one player I'd have given to the Wire pack. Absolutely monstered ours and gave Briers the space he needed to run the game. Briers is only ever as good as his pack, who were superb today.

I think they were collectively awesome, working as an effective unit to lay the platform for Briers to operate. I don't know if any single member of the pack did enough to warrant the MOM trophy, though. I just think Briers stood out by coming up with the big plays when it mattered. He had stiff competition from Hicks and Mathers, but I think the press boys made the right call.

Again very true. If I was Briers I'd be getting a few drinks in for the pack!
