It is if you are attending one of the games. Oh, hang on a min, I forgot about the wonders of Sky+.

Sorted!

Rights are irrelevant when we're discussing Sky News' sports bulletins as they show video from events they do not have the rights to. Why they cover other sports above league is a question for the editor.

The last round of CC games they didn't even bother showing the results on the tabs at the bottom of the screen :?

Sky have a replay of a British Lions tour match in South Africa on after Super League at 9pm so theres nothing stopping them kicking off at 7:30pm.

Good point, in fact I can't remember the last time I watched a televised game live (other than Bradford v Warrington).

In all honesty I can see why the RFL dont offer 2 packages for the Challenge Cup like the Fa do for the fa cup.

Until you reach the semis there is an opportunity for both the beeb and a satelite broadcaster to show two games each sky (or even setanta) friday and saturday night - beeb sat and sun afternoon.

They get a semi each and then both show the final.

Then again I also would like to see us try and split our superleague coverage into 2 packages as well 2 games and exclusive finals coverage and 1 game with finals highlights

It will all come down to what the broadcasters are willing to pay. The RFL use IMG Media to negotiate with the TV companies and they will know all about the different way of selling packages. For example - internationals are to be shared between Sky and BBC in the next deal. If more money could be raised by selling a split SL deal to BBC/Sky then I'm sure it would happen.

And internationals is they only area where there's been competition for the rights: the Beeb have shown no interest in league rights, Sky have shown no intererst in Cup rights: and they're the only two broadcasters to have shown any interest (apart from Eurosport's brief flirtation with considering broadcasting [then] NL games – if the RFL paid for the production costs)

Doubt everything, even this

Whatever!

Can anyone ever remember there being a clash of any kind between two live televised games of rugby league from this country!

I don't beleive it's ever happened before!
