In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. Mental issues are another problem, Andrew Jones was amazed at the attitude of his fellow Warrington players when the dressing room decided that they would put on a good show against one of the top teams. He had to to tell they were going to win, not put in a decent show.

one thing that might swing it in our favour,for a change, is the fact the a majority of the australians & kiwis are going to be playing the game under 2 refs this year in the NRL..
how will the cope with the change back to one ref for the 4nations?
also how will the refs perform now that they don't have ricky stuart barking orders at them?
