Hudds have done an awful lot since the dire SL days of 02ish to get people through the door, I didn't feel a snipe about yesterdays game was needed

While those figures showing increases are good , the bottom line is only 4/5 at most clubs are breaking even and despite the RFL's main focus of trying to follow RU and have corporate support as a higher profile revenue earner the support of your average fans is and always will remain the most important part of RL



Anything less than the RFL's criteria ave of 10,000 means extra financial input from directors/owners



Move down a grade and thing look even worse

You've got to say that for a small town team that is a bloody good effort, shame our lot can't do the same.

When we get our new stadium we are aiming for an average of 10k.

Aim all you want , but you might as well be aimimg for the moon

10,000 will easily be achievable in the new stadium, more away fans will travel to it, and more people from near by towns & villages will probably come too, better facilities means more fans, just look at Hull F.C. & Warrington.

Is it me or are 80% of Cas (my team) fans are nobs ? I just get the feeling the way we act sometimes you would think we were a top 4 team and have a ground like Hull or Hudds.

I know what you mean mate, some of the posts from our fans make me cringe with embarrassment, would say the majority of us are fairly grounded though

Leigh havent increased despite moving , in fact many prefer Hilton Park

I have posted many times that your attendances are very good for the size of your catchment but they could quite easyily be at their maximum now

I think cas do well out of their catchment area.

Oh the irony of that, coming from a Leyther.

It took 7 years to get our new stadium built, and it wasn't built during a recession. Those who think they will be playing in new stadiums in 2-3 years are living in a dreamland.

In there first half a season in a new stadium leigh havent improved there gates but whose to say they wont at the ned of the season or next year?



Whats more moving to new stadia is likely to effect sl teams very differantley as it did with hull and wire. We are currently averaging over 8,000 2, 000 more isnt that great a leap, especially considering how many new homes are beeing built in the area which should increase the population by a significant amount (the former prince of wales site alone is building 900 homes, right next to the site).



Also in our favour is the fact that no stadium in rl will be easier to get to (just of the m62, rail links right to the ground, buses from leeds, hull, wakey, london etc) and no grounds in rl will be a better family day out (lots of shopping, skiing, pubs, cinema, bowling, amusements, climbing, lazerzone, places to eat, hotel (s) all right next to the ground).

But there are no Great Crested Newts at Glasshoughton

What's that got to do with a Leigh fan knocking Castleford about their attendances?

Because Cas are basing their projected increase in crowds on moving in to their new stadium.

Right, still getting good crowds compared to some other SL clubs from much larger towns/cities.

Without a doubt, and they are to be commended for that. Just think it's a case of maintaining that level of crowds for the time being, rather than pushing for an increase in crowds on the basis of a new stadium that may not arrive for years.
