It has been said before and will be again.

Every player tries to milk penalties and reef balls out in the tackle.
Professinalism in the game is getting like the dives in Football.
The Coaches and players have as much to answer for as the poor Refs.
Look at the rubbish last year with grapple tackles and chicken wings etc etc.
Who would want to be a Ref?

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

 Every single refs thread on here ends up with someone, usually Starbug having a go at the OP because they 'haven't got the balls to be a ref'.

I havent seen the Manly incident but that Bulldogs one last week was absolutely disgraceful.
Still, people make mistakes, I don't think refs are as bad as people make out. I actually feel the standard has raised massively over the last 3 or 4 years in the UK.

You don't even need the balls to actually become a referee.

All that is required is a basic knowledge of the Laws of the Game, an ability to remove any blinkers (of whatever hue) and, most importantly, an understanding of the dynamics of refereeing.
