the rest may have changed, but sadly Saints are still top and playing by far and away the best rugby, and there isn't even Leeds at their level this season. Even the Saints fans must be bored of the yearly cup/grand final trips by now.

Good point. I will admit that I have tempered my judgment in the past two weeks.

But I still think that Walters was a bad choice, and his position should be considered tentative and insecure. He has performed badly so far, even in the games that they have won. They should never have allowed Bradford to run up 28 points against them. A Mick Potter drilled side would never allow that to happen.

I wouldn't count on it.

Most of them are disillusioned Liverpool fans. Winning trophies is a novelty

Kidding, Saints are a joy to watch. I pray for another victory at Knowlsey Road!

People lambasted the choice of Brian McDermott at Quins as he didn't have experience...myself included. People lambasted the choice of Mick Potter at Les Catalans.

Let's see what happens eh?

No knee jerks.

Oh sorry, you may not understand that phrase....

I think the usual suspects will be there at the end of the season. However I will be happy to be proved wrong.

Seem to remember this very same conversation doing the rounds this time last year.
In 2008 Leeds started like a house on fire before expeirencing a dip in form whilst Saints had a catastrophic (for them) opening losing 5 of their first 10 games culminating (if memory serves me right) in a defeat at Cas in week 10 (deja vu anyone).

The theory being bandied about 12 months ago was how this is the most open season in living memory, its wide open, anyone can win it etc etc. But when push came to shove it was Leeds & Saints who walked out at Old Trafford (and if it wasn't for the pot luck of CC draws, they probably would have walked out together at Wembley as well).

I would agree that its harder than ever to predict results from the weekly rounds with a certain amount of evening up having undoubtly occurred, but so far that hasn't translated into the play-offs with only 5 teams contesting the 11 Grand finals so far. This time last year it was looking increasingly likely that a fresh team would contest the season finale, but it was not to be.

The top of SL has a different look to it right now, but the smart money still says it will be Leeds/Saints Pt3 come October.

I've been on the internet and have already got a sense of the fans' passion for the club. They are very fanatical - Peter Gentle 12th September 2011.

Exactly. When we beat Saints in the first round a few years back, who'd have predicted we'd finish outside the play offs and Saints make the GF?

SL is bocomming much more competitive.

i dont think even saints have that same aura of a few years ago and could easily suffer a run of losses like leeds.

its only the beginnings but huddersfield certainly are a club that will be a regular semi finalist in years to come. nathan brown has turned them around and a few more good imports and i can see them winning the title.

Good call.
Saints are playing fantastic stuff right now, probably some of the best for a while but last year Leeds were untouchable right about now before sufferring a dip.
This year Hull have had highs then lows, you can't predict whe way it's going and thats t what im blaming my poor tipping performance on ;)
