To the dizzy lows of agreeing terms with Swinton Lions

This got me thinking, who is the most high profile player (at the time of being high profile!!) to go to being a low grade, low paid player who people soon forget.
FWIW I always thought of Penny as a decent finisher, but that was it. Alround he wasnt as good as most made out.

If you pop onto that well known video networking site and search "Kevin Penny TRY and mistake" you will find a video that shows Penny's finest moment and high point of his career, followed by the act that destroyed it. And, both took place in the same match.

Didnt a lad go from State of Origin to Celtic Crusaders when they were in the 2nd division of the northern ford or whatever it's called in a pretty short space of time? A Centre if memory serves...
