Welcome to the new full-time list to Liam Rush of Batley.

At only 21 this is a heck of an achievement and having seen him refereeing I am confident he will be a great addition. This lad is superb.

But on another note - is he the first referee of dual heritage* ? He must be the first full-time one ?

Not that we in RL take notice of such "labels" but just saying it is another example of our diversity.

He's got a funny shaped head though so I'm definitely going to test him out the first time I see him ref a game.

Vella is the interesting one for me. Australian ref who was in their system who is now over here. Have we acquired him to do that or has he just moved over here for other reasons?

lovely young man, I taught his bro briefly (also lovely). the school were always very supportive of him having time off to help fulfil his career choice, he has been very committed to refereeing for a long time and he has over many years made a whole host of achievements in terms of his refereeing such as referee of the year, youngest to ref a schools final etc. Hes a great referee, always even as a youngster been very vocal so the players know exactly what's expected. His brother has just signed full time for Huddersfield.

Both are fine.

Half-caste is the one to avoid.
