The way the game is run is nothing short of a farce. No vision, no future planning. Its just make it up as one goes along.

If it happens it won't last long, because this is rugby league.

Take you pick from 2 leagues of 10, 12 or 14. The Australian model, promotion & relegation or franchising, play offs with 4, 5, 6 or 8 teams, FPTP, some will like it, others won’t. There isn’t one model that will satisfy all.

Personally I quite like the idea of franchising 20 teams into 2 divisions of 10. Play each team in your group twice and each team in the other once. Promotion and relegation between the 2. Top 5 playoff in each to determine the champions and the bottom of the top tier is relegated.

Review the franchises every X years where any team which has finished in the bottom 2 or 3 of the second tier has to bid and new teams can apply for the next period.

All I really long for though is a stable format that we stick with as this changing every 4 or 5 years does my head in.

Is there any truth in the rumours that the CC will be restructured into a champions league style format?
