Apparently we are giving the Greek team a warmup before the world cup. Can I immediately suggest we all take some of our old plates to the game and hurl them about the place as a mark of respect.

When I first read about this game, I had to read it twice to make sure I wasn't tripping.

Yeah. By that time the exodus of 16 players may well have happened. I'm not sure seeing our young lads getting smashed by grizzled NRL players would be a pretty sight. We could chant "Smash plates not players".

Very strange fixture. Assume it'll be a squad of whoever is leftover from 2022 and some of the academy/reserve players. When do contracts run out, is it at the end of October?

Could be a chance to kidnap a few NRL players and press gang them into the first team - we could release them in October 2023 when we've been promoted.

Why Greece want to play us is anyone's guess. Playing a group of kids and what's left over of the first team who will be well into off season mode by then is a recipe for disaster.

Perhaps someone in the Greece set up remembers us being good (20 years ago) and thought it would be a prestige game in front of 20,000 people in the midst of Bullmania
