I remember the glory days of special celebrity guests like Gareth Gates' sister, MC Wiggy from the hit man and her and - as recently as last year- local celebrity snake Ethel the python.

However, I feel we have fallen behind while our local rivals are upping their game.

I now wake up to the news that internationally famous Katie Price - only the best known model in the world - is to turn out at cougar park on Sunday... https://www.keighleynews.co.uk/news/17738868.katie-price-to-star-at-keighley-cougars-pride-event/

We need to up our game before it's too late. Can't that bloke off dinner ladies get one of his London friends to appear?

I find this very disrespectful, as I graciously put in a personal appearance, free, every week, which is why we get the biggest crowds.

MC Wiggy. What a day that was.

Odd on a minute, we did get the occasional 'True' Gold standard celeb as well. Tony Hadley, for instance..

Who's scraping the barrel more in that scenario; Keighley or Katie?

Hang on, IIRC we actually had THE Gareth Gates walk on the pitch before a game in his prime during BullMania.

He got booed on and off the pitch, mind you.

Good initiative for sure - all for pride and inclusivity. However KP is a confusing selection of headline act for two reasons:

1. She's had more c*ck than....well....most
2. She can't sing

If I were active in the pride movement I'd be questioning whether I felt KP represented me, and I'd say that's a big fat no.

We should have got Kerry Katona there on Sunday.
Im sure then we could have worked some social media marketing campaign with Keighley regarding whos got the most desperate old tart. It would deffo have raised the profile for.both games!!
