Club have confirmed that they won't be able to live stream our games next season due to the Sky agreement. The games will be shown on Bulls TV twenty four hours later.

That would be the tv rights that sky paid for, yet don’t take up and screen matches. The same deal that the failing superleague bosses want to take back from the championship clubs. Yet the championship clubs aren’t able to renege on by screening themselves. Seems fair to me can’t see why the greedy lovers had to resort to bullying tactics to get the vote through.

It was my understanding that when the current sky deal ends, the championship will be able to secure their own broadcasting deal, no?

It was to be expected that the live streaming would stop in this division. But they'll still be available on demand afterwards so it's not the end of the world.
I would actually be prepared to pay a small fee for Bulls TV if it meant some increase in the production quality etc.

I Suggested this would be case a while back only to be contradicted by mr gledhill. He said games would be streamed, albeit not specifying who by or whether live. So guessing we might see something via Rfl our league app.

Bit of an own goal by club waiting until last day of early bird to announce this as may tipped a few waiverers over the edge.

Not surprising news is it?

Not surprising, but it is disappointing. Especially given the fact that Sky hold the TV rights and aren't doing a thing with them and there's probably no clause in the agreement with Sky that lets clubs challenge that.

And so the Championship and League 1 clubs remain poor cousins. TV exposure could encourage more fans to go to games and help those clubs secure better sponsorship deals and therefore have more money coming into the game, which can only be a good thing as that's the main thing the game needs in order to survive.

Not to worry! After hearing Aaron Bower wax lyrical about the sunny uplands the Super League chairmen are creating that we'll benefit from - in an almost 'trickle down economics' stlye - I have no fear for the future. Our gold plated stadium and 200k/game attendance is but a month or two away....

I wonder what Chalmers will have to say about this in his next newspaper column? "Oh dear, not to worry, these things happen."
Maybe not.

Ironically there might actually be more League 1 games broadcast next year than Championship ones! What a mess.
