Wonder if this is part of reasoning behind Jimmy's innovative training schedule. Get guys and trainer in early doors to assess and setup training targets. We then have a break from group training whilst dempseys in oz, but team still do individual gym work, and then come back together as a group when he's back?.

agree the assessment and target setting is the important bit to do immediately, the first phase of conditioning will be the start of the ramp up, it is October after all not February. I would have thought that the most important part of training right now is the skills side, as anyone will tell you when learning a skill, accuracy first power second.

Agree in a sense Martin. If we were talking about beginners and not professionals it would be spot on, but in our case, I think we maybe need to take it that most of the skills will already be in place, though I fully accept they all need honing and improving. In any case, I think it's pretty traditional that pre-season work starts with the grunt!
