Quote:Meanwhile, Rhinos' Challenge Cup heroes of a decade ago are reuniting to celebrate their Wembley glory.

A reunion dinner will be held at Headingley Carnegie next month to mark the 10th anniversary of Rhinos' record-breaking 52-16 win over London Broncos in the last final staged at the old Wembley.

The whole of the cup-winning squad have agreed to attend, including Australian trio Marc Glanville, Brad Godden and Jamie Mathiou, Tongan prop Martin Masella and Kiwi centre Richie Blackmore, along with coach Graham Murray.

One thing I've noticed in Aus is that any excuse to draw attention to the more glorious aspects of any club's history is not spurned. 90th, 10th, 100th, whatever. We've now allowed the 75th anniversary of the 7-5 victory over Australia , the 50th anniversary of Wembley and back three times go and the 25th anniversary of back-to-back titles all go past without a mention. It would be great to see us get on the ball like this. Just a stencil under the badge on the shirts perhaps.

Dates of interest coming up...

1st September 2009 - 75th anniversary of the first game at Odsal
May 7th 2009- 60th anniversary of the cup final vs Halifax, the third leg of Wembley and back three times.
2010 - 15 years of the 'Bulls' name.
2011 - 60th anniversary of first floodlit match in the north, of any football code.
2012 - 10th anniversary of the club's first WCC
2013 - 40th anniversary of Wembley '73; 150th anniversary of the original Bradford club; 60th anniversary of the club's record home crowd, 69k vs Huddersfield (!), 10th anniversary of the treble
2014 - 50th anniversary of the rebirth; 60th anniversary of the 102,000 crowd; Mumby's debut.
2016 - 100th anniversary of Trevor Foster's birth

Feel free to add your own.

Some of them have got to be dead certs to get on a shirt. 15 years of the bulls name has to be there, maybe 75th anniversary of first game at odsal.

not necessarily, the number 15 is hardly a big milestone. maybe in 2015 when we've been the bulls for 20 years it could be celebrated but then won't that be the same for the rhinos, wolves, warriors, etc. ?

Rhinos was adopted in '97 I think.

[watching Mackay testing the curry in the prison kitchens]
Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?
Fletcher: No, Bradford.

my mistake. I thought with the summer transition, most clubs added the nickname at the same time.

According to some that would mean you getting lumbered with McBanana too, so it wouldn't be all bad.

I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.
