We've gone into seasons light up front before and it doesn't work. Think it was 2013 or 2014 when we had about two bona fide props in the squad and we were playing people like Chev Walker at prop to make the numbers up. It didn't work.
I'm hoping that some of the younger lads are really ready to step up. I could also see us signing someone like Holroyd on loan again.

I don't think it's a disaster. Defensively they'll be streets ahead of Crossley and Walker who were an embarrassment last year. Assume Scur and Thompson could also play as a starting prop. Baldwinson needs a big season and hopefully he'll kick on this year. Assume Dunning/Noble are searching for more forwards.

Its also much easier to get good props on loan than good backs or SR’s. We’ve had a fair share in the past. Baldwinson, Lawrence, Scurr, Foster, Rodgers, Green and Ho are all middle units.
I’m happy to start the season with them (although one more would be nice). And pick up someone on dual reg/loan as and when we need.
Glad we’re going in with the likes of Walker, Holmes, Patton and Lilley though. Some quality there!

What about Brad Ho?
He's not a young kid anymore, he's 22.
He did a season-long loan with Keighley, who walked away with League and made 18 appearances in a team many people here are tipping to be better than us this season.
Ho definitely needs a big season. The club must see something in him for him to have been out on loan so many times and still not yet cemented his place in the squad.
That 2014 season was a disaster! We only had Sidlow and Manuokafoa as actual props with then Chev Walker. We then had to get Mullally, Kaufusi, Bridge and Fakir on loan.
I like Scurr as he plays above his weight, but we are definitely very light and will get bullied by the big boys Halifax, Fev, York and Keighley have. One or 2 injuries upfront and we're screwed. Also, we have seen that loans don't work anymore, they are pointless.

Not that surprising really given the rumours that he had a chronic injury. A big shame for him. Also not good news for the team as he was one forward that could hit a decent line.
