Thank chuff for that. . . .
I was toying with the idea of suggesting that we ought to change the name of this thread to "ME<>FA : The war of attrition. . . . .vol xx" . . . I only stopped because I couldn't decide who's name to put first ( plus I'd face eternal damnation from the other) and probably start a whole new war . . .

That's rubbish, it would make no difference to me at all - as long as you put my name first, of course.
Define 'war' though - in these 'wars', the form is well established: ME starts the 'war' with a ludicrously ill-judged attack (usually a Groundhog-day-style repeat attack); but as soon as a couple of accurate shots of return fire come in, he invariably turns tail and runs, whingeing pathetically as he goes. I reckon this is because he has no ammo, but whatever the reason, it is a strange sort of 'war' where the opposition's only tactic is to duck, and head for the hills, pulling faces and shouting "I cannae be bothered wi' this nae more"
If it wasn't so unlikely, I'd swear ME is part goldfish, as the next day he will have forgotten all about it, and starts the whole thing over again.

It's now the internet messageboard equivalent of the WW1 battle for Verdun. Both protagonists slugging away at each other in the hope of wearing out the other. The only hope for the rest of us is that one of you will see the error of your ways before boredom takes us away for good
At least Von Falkenhayn got removed so he couldn't carry on. Can't either of your partners drag you off the PC? Millions of brain cells are at risk if you carry on!

The way I see it, ME posts claims and POVs which should be challenged; this is a Bulls forum and so in general I'd expect people to be broadly speaking supportive of the Bulls, and not nihilist, nor (as in the case of ME's anti-McNamara obsession) so damned persistent. Even today he's had a couple of gratuitous digs at Mac in other threads. But maybe that's fine. Whatever, I've ignored those.
The responses i do make are in my view polite enough, reasoned and in the way of fair comment or fair reply. My view is that ME rarely responds however, and so the points I make are usually unopposed save as to glib one liners, or else frequently complete misrepresentations of what I or someone else has stated.
I therefore do object to being tarred with the same brush as ME as I don't see what is wrong with putting forward a reasoned reply, which is always my aim.
However, this isn't the first time I've been criticised by a mod for similar. Asim has previously criticised me and others for responses made to trolls (even objecting to using the word). Asim himself posts pretty much doom and cynicism, and of course he is fully entitled to do so but am struggling to understand why I am being included in criticism.
If there is error in my ways that I can't see, then perhaps I need to take stock, and join those others who no longer post. It is not at all my intention to drive anybody away from the boards so if - as it seems - my presence here is viewed as doing that, I'll make myself scarce.
Enjoy yourselves, and to the Bulls supporters, the best of British.
