Did anyone see the incident. I listened on the radio and Mick said the linesman gave it, which suggests the ref didn't see it. Fleming carries the ball high and has had a good season. All well and good saying he's an idiot but we needed a bit of size and attitude and he brings that.

Absolutely stupid penalty to give away

Yes the Fleming incident was just plain stupid. To give a penalty away when you are in possession is bad enough but with less than 20 seconds to go in a game you are winning by a point is just criminal.

I thought the DFJ ‘forward’ try looked fine though so maybe a bit hard done by with that but I guess that’s the luck of the draw. Hopefully it evens out and the ref misses a forward pass from us during the playoffs

Yeah they looked nothing wrong with that pass. When you see some forward passes that get let go, it beggars belief they see a forward pass in that play. We do seem to get some rough calls at Widnes. The obstruction call last year, i also remember (I think it was Jack Owens) blatently knocking a kick on in the in-goal which proved the decisive score. Think it was in our miserable relegation year in SL so there was an in-goal TJ at the time.

Anyway it's not the reason we lost. We were winning, with the ball with less than a minute left. Wouldn't like to be the players at training tonight.
