On an odd note, I notice Olly Russell from Huddersfield was supposed to be on loan at Leigh for the season, given a squad number, then didn't play. Now he's turning out on Dual Reg for Batley. Did Hudds recall him when Leigh took Richardson on, and it looked unlikely he was going to get much game time at the LSV?
Russell got recalled by Huddersfield when they were short of players, played in one game v Hull & kicked a couple of goals....and then shipped out to Batley.

Alan, I aren’t certain of this but I think I’ve heard you can’t any longer, certainly would work on principle you can’t and you might be pleasantly surprised. Plenty of street parking if you drive up Bradford Rd getting off m/way at Chain Bar

Well, I enjoyed that.
We made fewer errors than of late, and chased back and tackled with real determination and steel. The only time Leigh scored was with the help of the ref, who did find a string of highly dodgy calls against us, which can be mentioned seeing as we won.
I thought Kear did very well to shuffle the team around as he did, and by and large it left a solid unit, if lacking some penetration, but with the injuries that lack of a settled halfback pairing excuses that.
First half was a great contest and we did very well to get level at half time. Second half while we scored a cheeky poached Ethan try and a couple of length of the field breakaways, we forced those positions and those loose balls, and had the wit and ability to finish them off. Could've been even better but for the lucky ankletap on Foggy.
Also 4300+ crowd, all good.

A good win for us. I wonder if the loss last week could actually be the spark that start our season proper. Especially as we should be seeing players returning from injury over the next few weeks.
