Who decided to plump for adopting an emminently marketable nickname, ripe for exploitation in a myriad of merchandising opportunities? No not me that's true.

Not entirely sure what you have in mind with this conversation. The point is that we aped an American brand that had opportunities. Fax simply chose an iconic American brand that is entirely unmarketable outside of the States. Are you the one Fax fan that doesn't thing it was, dare I say it, "retarded" to call your club Blue Sox?

But we wore socks. And they were blue. it seemed so plausible

Looking back i wish our club had gone down your route and copied entirely the blueprint laid down by Keighley Cougars. Great "vision" shown by your board - one which we should also have taken up.

The sarcasm isn't lost on me but I think you're wrong to suggest it wasn't visionary to copy a winning formula whether that be Keighley, Chicago or anyone else.

Actually - snide comment left aside - i was being genuine. Bradford's marketing is second to none and i would never be able to deny that without looking like a bitter knobsack.

So should Fax pick up a new suffix now, then?
