Also I get that Gill is a big weapon out wide but why we insist on always kicking to him is beyond me. Mix it up a bit, MDJ was free 2-3 times when we chose to kick to Gill. Put a few grubbers in to cause a repeat set.
agreed (please forgive because i can only listen) .. we just seem to be raping the hell out of the dec patton kick to gill and its becoming an easy read. last kick option only seems to be stick it up in the air and no other option
We got away with it at London last week and got found today. We were an utter shambles for 65/70 minutes of the game. Don't let that 10 minute fightback distract anyone from what was, for the most part, an utterly toothless attacking display. I lost track of the amount of time we put up a high bomb for Gill to contest. We looked absent of any creativity near the Barrow line for large parts of the game. Lets also not forget that Barrow played a quarter of the game with a man down as well. We were dreadful going forward today.
Crossley not playing the ball correctly with us in great field position to win the game is unforgivable. An absolute coach killer from our captain. Our discipline was very poor today with us being penalised multiple times for dissent giving Barrow easy field position.
Patton looked off it all game with a heavily strapped knee and Lilley never really got over the knock he took early in the second half. I felt we played better when Hall went to full back and we played a lot more expansively with him in support. Hall should start next week ahead of Kear.
It always hurts more when you claw your way back into it and still lose. It would have been the heist of the season if we would have won that game.
Interesting point: In the closing minutes on the Barrow 22 the touch judge came running on to signal an infringment. Game stopped but ref then took no action either way?

Couldnt have written that any better my self. Absolute spot on. Said it a few times already this year that Crossley is a waste of a shirt. Absolute garbage along with plenty of others.

In all fairness, and I may be in the minority here. But I thought for the first 20 minutes we played in the right areas. Pinned Barrow back a lot, forced a few errors. And a few penalties etc. At the time I thought it was potentially a great start. Kept them down there. Got a 4-0 lead.
Turning point was not taking the 2 under their sticks just before they went a man down. Take the two, get the ball back. Go at them again. It was working. Obviously then discipline killed us and they went and scored.
Lot of negatives today. But the things what annoyed me the most was obviously Crossley’s incorrect play in good position. And the three penalties for mouthing off. Stupid penalties.

100% this. These players are being allowed to turn this sort of performance in too often. Kear clearly has no authority anymore.
