Couldnt agree more. Still people think we can challenge for the play offs.
As it stands we are in a relegation battle. No doubt about it.

Possibly, though I’m not sure if it was more a case of his attitude rather than his abilities on the pitch that Kear didn’t like. Admittedly John does seems to prefer a bit more structure. Not sure whether a partnership of just Milnes and Lilley will frighten too many defences next year though.

With the team we have so far I can’t see us playing a expansive game, it will be 5 drives and kick to to corner, no up and unders as no one to jump, just looking to see who might be capable of going 60 - 80 metres lol

In fairness I think many said the same about Leigh and Fev during pre season last year.

I imagine Kear has worked on smaller budgets and I can’t remember him ever being relegated from the Championship.

I think Tetley Stadium and expensive rugby is an probably an oxymoron anyway. If over 50% of the games are there I can't see us setting up for any breathtaking rugby, and to be fair it's hardly Kear's style. I'm looking forward to a dour season at best....

And as much as we enjoyed the leaping Ethan it was employed that often it was becoming ineffective, nope 5 times back through the ruck and find the corner is what I think we can look forward to.

I can't see where the similarities between us now and Featherstone and Leigh a year ago come from, apart from the fact that we all didn't have many players before the season started.

Featherstone have an established DR agreement with Leeds, which they used well. (And they bought our star HB who worked wonders for them.)

Leigh have an (admittedly fickle) multi-millionaire owner who will splash the cash when needed. Like he did last year.

We have neither of those things.

What we have is a temporary owner without a Pot to Pi$$ in, players leaving us to join clubs in the league below (for reasons which remain unsaid. But it's money, isn't it?), a DR agreement with someone eventually, and no home ground to play at.

Never trust a man who, when left alone in a room with a tea cosy, doesn't try it on.

If you believe what they say, we have the entire season's central funding plus money from sponsorship and the circa 800 season tickets sold. We also have considerably lower outgoings now that we're away from Odsal, and a much lower wage bill as things stand.

It's frustrating to see players leave, especially when they drop down a division. Is this because we can't afford them or because their trust in the club is damaged beyond repair?

If we don’t have DR then I agree. But it sounds like we will.

I don’t think the ‘no home ground’ will impact how we play.

We’ve made a couple of decent signings, we obviously need a few more. I think we’ll avoid relegation. I think by how much will depend on the quality of the DR partnership.

As it looks like Toronto are going to be with Widnes, which club options are left for DR?
