mystic eddie wrote:Maybe those "costly narrow defeats" might well have been caused with the fact that we always seem to look a shot side after 60 minutes and certainly seem to struggle to perform for the whole 80 minutes?

If this is being caused by not controlling the PTB, I will take that as a tactical failing of the coach, if not, it is a failing of the conditioner IMO.

IMO it's down to a lack of impact players coming off the bench in a number of games this season meaning we cannot maintain high intensity for 80mins. That can be attributed to injuries, recruitment and selection mistakes depending on the game.

I'd also add that in many games where we've appeared to run out of steam our completion rate was very poor.

Oddly enough, I am still waiting on an answer. Always quick to throw out the insults Blotto. Shame you have no ability to justify them.

What Mac clearly needs to do is move, here to Benidorm, or Scotland, and never see us play. That way maybe he too would get to know all the answers
:D

Benidorm. Classy.

However, you being there clearly has not helped YOU get the answers has it? :)

Then again, you are in the right place being by the sea. Plenty of sand for you to bury your head in.....

Try to be calm there McSporran, did I touch a wee nerve there? 8)

I can confirm that I do indeed now have all the answers.

Oh and sorry to be the one to point it out but your sand metaphor, like most of your theories, is based on a popular fallacy and bears no relation to the facts

I thought Macca was pretty honest in this article and despite looking carefully have failed to spot any excuses offered.
I am glad to read that he is to work on mental strength during the off season as that is what I have missed all season. We seem to lack the discipline to really close out a game when we are well in the lead as well as to find a way ti win close games.

Yeah - and he also says this.....

Quote:The best young coach in Super League said, "“As a group we’ve held our dignity throughout the season and not used anything as an excuse. "

Oh yeah?

Never questioned officials and decisions then? Never bemoaned injuries and bad luck?

Hmm.
